Petrov Trap
A trap for White in the Petrov's Defense: Damiano Variation. Black's natural-looking Nf6 gives White the queen.
The moves
How it works
After 3...Nxe4? Qe2 pins on the e-file. Moving the knight away opens the file: Nc6+ is a discovered check that hits the queen.
What it wins
White gets the queen.
How Black avoids it
Taking back the pawn at once walks into Qe2: the knight is pinned, and when it moves, Nc6+ uncovers check and wins the queen. Chase the knight with ...d6 first. The safe move is d6.
